Top Anti-Aging Foods

The top anti-aging foods you need to eat to reverse the aging process is whole, raw plant foods.  There is not one particular food to focus on in order to reverse aging, but rather focusing on the addition of foods that are both nutrient dense and hydrating.

The cause of all degenerative disease is deficiency and toxicity.  So if we want to reverse aging, we want to take into consideration these two things.  You need to detoxify by changing your diet and you need to add high nutrient dense food that will address deficiency.

Patience is key.  Especially if you have been eating the Standard American Diet (SAD), which is basically the “anything goes” diet.  It takes time to reverse the effects of all the toxins accumulated through years of “wrong eating.”

Eating an abundance of fresh, raw, preferably organic, fruits and vegetables will immediately begin the cleansing process in your body.  The addition of the fiber will begin to clean the colon and move out years of accumulated sludge.  You may have some detox reactions at first, like headaches, weakness, muscle aches, stomach discomfort, loose stools and tiredness.  But if you practice patience and stick with it, these symptoms will go away, yielding to increased energy, vitality and well-being.

Drink lots of fresh, clean water (not tap water) to help move the waste out of your body.  Adding lemon and minerals to your water is helpful.

As you focus on putting fresh, raw fruits and vegetables into your body, begin to eliminate all processed foods, alcohol, sugar, and white flour.  Also reduce or eliminate your consumption of meat.  Meat stays in your digestive tract for up to 72 hours or more.  So when you are cleansing, you want to get the food you consume moving through your colon rapidly.

Fruits and veggies will move through your digestive track in less than a day, sweeping your digestive tract in the process, which is one reason why they are the top anti-aging foods.

If your goal is anti-aging, you will want to transition to a diet of whole, plant-based foods with a large percentage raw.  Maybe start with a raw breakfast and lunch and a cooked dinner.

A raw breakfast may consist of fresh fruit, a smoothie, or a cereal bowl of an apple, berries, hemp seeds, soaked chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, a date, and maybe a handful of walnuts.  This is a very cleansing breakfast and has an abundance of plant proteins as well as cleansing fruits.

Lunch can be a big raw green salad with cabbage, kale and romaine with an abundance of vegetables likes carrots, beets, red onion, pepper, radishes, tomatoes, and cucumber.

Dinner can be some Quinoa (high in protein) with some steamed broccoli and a sweet potato and perhaps a side salad.   Or you can have some beans or lentils with steamed veggies and a salad.  These meals are very healthy and high in fiber.

The more you begin to transition to eating this way, the easier it becomes and the more you begin to crave these kinds of foods.  The old way of eating isn’t as appealing anymore because you realize you didn’t feel good eating that way.  Now you have a comparison.  You have more energy, vitality, better health, those aches and pains are going away and your skin is looking smooth and clear.  You may also have lost some weight.  Why go back?

Although it takes time and patience to transition to a healthier lifestyle by eating these top anti-aging foods,  it is well worth the investment.  This is an investment in yourself and your well-being.  Stick with it.  You will be glad you did.
